Last week we were preapproved for a home loan through USAA. We were more than excited, to say the least. I quickly got a list of our favorite homes together and sent it off to our realtor.
Today, we got to see six of the houses off of the list. Two of them have made it to the second round. Well, actually the third round. First round was a drive by, looking for a garage and yard. Second round was a look inside and the third round will be looking again and seeing what the gas and electric bills look like and really taking a look at the disclosure agreement.
The two homes that stayed on the list were homes that we walked into and decided that it's a house we can see our boys growing up in. They both have places for huge toy rooms (ones a usable attic space and the other is an area on top of the garage) that could be made into an awesome teenage hang out spots.
All in all, house hunting with Zach has provided a welcome distraction for both of us. It's nice to be moving forward with our lives and not just lingering in the past. Maybe once we are in our home and we have both knocked out our military job training (my recruiter school and his medic school) we'll be ready to have another baby.
